Marianna Allen is the 2021 AATF-Philadelphia Marilyn Conwell Professional Grant recipient. She currently teaches French in the upper school at the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to teaching at Penn Charter, Marianna taught French at Central High School in Philadelphia. She is an appreciator of proverbs and fables, poems, good food, clever puns and memes, and she particularly enjoys untimed visits to museums and watching films and shows from the Francophone world when her 2 young children go to bed on time. Marianna is native to West Philadelphia and is appreciative of the opportunity to share her enjoyment of the French language and cultures with her students, friends, family, and anyone who wants to learn together.
